Project Update: CNC Goals

So I’m finally pulling the trigger on building a CNC mill. After ton of using other people’s 3D printers, laser cutters, and mills (both CNC and manual), it’s apparent that I need one I can call my own.

Desktop CNC

A semi-portable desktop CNC for milling and 3D printing. Currently in development.


SecureDrawer is a device that can be attached to any drawer and uses Bluetooth Low Energy to automatically and painlessly lock and unlock it depending on your phone’s proximity to the drawer.

Plane Bot

A robot that sits on your desk and shoots miniature balsa wood planes.


A DJ for your bluetooth speaker. Have your party guests request songs and automatically play Pandora where there no more requests. Won Best Hardware Hack at HAkron 2.0.

Bubble Tank

A robot who’s sole purpose is to drive around and shoot bubbles.

Project Update: Updated Frame Design

It’s been a really, really long time since I’ve posted anything here. I’ve been extremely busy with school stuff and I haven’t had the time or motivation to keep things documented. Regardless, a lot of progress has been made since the beginning of 2016. The second version of my quadcopter frame saw its first flight and first crash, which led me to realize a few of the major issues with the design and cause me to get to work on a revision.


Force which OS your computer boots into using a physical toggle switch. This was our project for HackOHI/O 2016.

Project Update: Custom 350 H-Quad Frame

I’ve spent the last week designing and building a new frame as I refurbish my quadcopter. It has been a lot of work, but I finally have something that is lightweight, durable, and looks awesome.

As I have begun to learn more and more about this whole quadcopter thing, I’ve heard many people recommend replacing the stock firmware that comes with ESCs with a custom firmware, Simonk, that is specifically tuned for multicopters.
